These challenges have made the formulation of an Islamic model of social security absolutely necessary. The present paper discusses the proposition that the model of social security in early Islam can be identified by a historical method and this model can be used as a model of social security for modern societies after its time-related features are eliminated. A historical method has been used in this research, and the findings show that there was a distinctive and successful model of social security in early Islam. This model includes such prominent features like society-centeredness (instead of state-centeredness), merit-orientation (instead of universalism), neighborhood-orientation (instead of centralism) and avoiding duality in tax deductions and social security. Observing to these features in designing new models of social security can contribute to solving existing problems. امروزه الگوهای متعارف تأمین اجتماعی سرمایه داری با چالش های فراوانی از جمله بحران های عمیق مالی مواجه اند. بروز این چالش ها، تدوین الگوی تأمین اجتماعی اسلامی را به ضرورتی اساسی تبدیل نموده است. در این تحقیق این فرضیه را مطرح می کنیم که می توان با به کارگیری روش تاریخی، الگوی تأمین اجتماعی صدر اسلام را کشف و پس از الغاء خصوصیات عصری آن، به الگوی مناسبی برای جوامع امروزی دست یافت. یافته های تحقیق که به روش تحلیل تاریخی انجام شده نشان می دهد در صدر اسلام الگوی متمایز و موفقی از تأمین اجتماعی وجود داشته است. این الگو متضمن ویژگی های برجسته ای چون: جامعه محوری (به جای دولت محوری)، استحقاق گرایی(به جای عام گرایی)، محله محوری(به جای تمرکزگرایی)، عدم دوگانگی کسورات مالیات و تأمین اجتماعی بوده است که توجه به آنها در طراحی الگوهای نوین تأمین اجتماعی به حل مشکلات موجود کمک خواهد کرد. https://marefateeqtesadi.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefateeqtesadi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/9385.pdf
