Examining the characteristics of the state in order to distinguish it from other institutions constitutes one of the important areas of state studies. This research divides the characteristics of the state into two parts: intrinsic and extrinsic, and explains the existence of credit as one of the inherent characteristics of the state. The comparative analysis of the economic implications of the existence of credit of the state from the perspective of Islam and liberalism is considered the most important part of the present research.The existence of different economic implications in Islamic and capitalist economies regarding the credit existence of the state constitutes the research hypothesis. The present research, which was conducted using an analytical-descriptive method and relying on library resources, has identified three cases of legal personality, instrumentality, and coercion or compromise as manifestations of the credit existence of the state.The research findings show that although the Islamic and liberal states have some commonalities in terms of the aforementioned manifestations, there are also profound and fundamental differences between them regarding the economic implications of the state's credibility.
